St Mary’s Street Wallingford
St Marys street is one of the oldest streets in Wallingford UK, and walking through the street on my way to the farmers market I was reminded of one of my early business failures. The old road was pedestrianized about forty years ago and our company never had the opportunity to quote. Twenty years later large parts of the roadway had decomposed, classic signs of poor cement sand ratios and subsequent frost damage. Halfway along the walkway there is a very old 16th century doorway and surrounding this area Rogers Gardenstone Superpave, 18 x12 and 9×6 Tudor brick have been laid in all their glory, the uppermost surface is as good as it was Twenty years ago. It is just a pity we had not been allowed to quote all those years ago, certainly it would have been better and cheaper for all concerned.
