St Michael’s Mount Cornwall

Walking along the seashore from Penzance to Marizon you can see St Michael’s Mount.  The tidal island lies 500 metres from the shore, and at low tide can be reached by foot.  The old cobbled causeway creates a path to the island.  Stories of archangel Michael saving ship wrecked seaman, date back to 495AD.  Once on the Island explore the old castle and gardens.  Make your own journey of discovery through the winding pathways.

It’s amazing that the plants survive the winds and salty air, but the warm micro climate of this island has seen gardens thrive.   This National Trust site is well worth a visit.
