Gardening is exceptionally fun, healthy and rewarding, and that reward becomes ever more literal when you grow your own fruits and vegetables. With the budding trend of growing your own delicious food becoming ever more popular, a little growing plot has become as popular a fixture as a lawn or garden stepping stones. Here are three great foods to grow in your garden, all delicious and rich in nutrients to keep your body healthy.

Tomatoes

Most superfoods are quite vivid in colour, and tomatoes are both beautiful and very easy to grow. Whilst there are many different types of tomatoes, they tend to either grow as large vines or as short bushes, so make sure to check the label before you buy to make sure you have the right growing space.

Broccoli

Broccoli is rich in vitamins antioxidants and fibres, which help to control blood sugar. As well as this they are ideal to grow in a garden as they can survive some pretty strong conditions. When the heads and spears have formed but before the flowers have opened is the perfect time to harvest them.

Radishes

A super healthy, super easy superfood to grow, they can be seeded and grown in as little as four weeks. Not only do they add a bit of crunch and texture to your salads, but they also can help stop cancer cell growth thanks to their proliferation of compounds known as isothiocyanates. They also contain a lot of antioxidants and small amounts of a large number of nutrients, vitamins and minerals.
